Nasir Jamshed (born December 6, 1989 in Lahore) is a Pakistani cricketer. He is an attacking left handed opening batsman. Jamshed made his first class d�but at the age of just 15 and was soon selected to the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team for a series against Sri Lanka, making 204 in the second innings on his d�but. In the 2007-08 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy series he scored over 800 runs and earned selection in the Patron's XI side to play Zimbabwe. He made 182 runs and within a week was playing ODI cricket for Pakistan. In his debut against the Zimbabweans he opened the batting and smashed 61 off just 48 deliveries which saw him win the Man of the Match award. In his second ODI, he hit 74 off 64 balls, becoming only third Pakistani to make consecutive half centuries in first and second matches. In Asia Cup 2008, Jamshed hit two 50's in the two matches he played. Against India at Karachi, he scored 53 until he was retired hurt. In the next game against Bangladesh, he scored a quick fire 52 not out at Karachi which set up an unbeaten 116 runs opening stand with Salman Butt which saw Pakistan home with more than 30 overs still to play. From these performances, he has really strengthened his position as an opener in the Pakistani ODI squad. During the Asia Cup 2008 Jamshed's fitness was questioned by the commentators and he visibly seemed over weight. This lack of fitness also lead him to miss the following Twenty20 tournament in Canada, and a 3 match ODI series against the West Indies. His exclusion from the national team continued in January 2009 when he was passed over for Khurram Manzoor during the Sri Lanka ODI series.

Umar Gul is a Pakistani right arm fast medium bowler in cricket who has played Test matches, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals for the Pakistani cricket team.
He has gained fame as one of the most successful bowlers in Twenty20 cricket finishing as the leading wicket taker and bowler in both the 2007 and 2009 Twenty20 World Championship tournaments.
Gul was born in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan he was born in a middle-class family and frequently played tape-ball cricket.
People on the street encouraged Gul to become an international cricketer as they saw his superb bowling. On October 2010 Gul's family announced that he was to wed a Dubai Doctor. The doctor is from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and she was born there as well.
On 30 May 2012, Pakistan Army raided Umar Gul's house in Peshawar and arrested his brother on the charge of hiding a wanted militant.
In February 2008, Gul signed with the Indian Premier League and was drafted by Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders franchise for US $150,000.
He played in six matches, taking 12 wickets at an average of 15.33, including a player of the match award in Kolkata's final game in which Gul took 4-23 and scored 24 runs from 11 balls.
In December 2008 Gul signed with the Western Warriors to compete in the Australian domestic 2008-09 KFC Twenty20 Big Bash tournament.
He performed very well in his debut match for the Warriors, taking 4 wickets for 15 runs in a losing side.
He was amongst the most successful bowlers in the competition despite not being available for the entire tournament he finished second top wicket taker with 12 wickets.
Internationally, Gul has taken 47 wickets in just 32 games at an average of 14.65, a truly outstanding statistic.
He is the second leading wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals behind teammate Shahid Afridi.Umar Gul, after taking five-for in Twenty20 International Cricket, became the first ever bowler to own five wickets haul in all international formats of the game.

Shoaib Akhtar is a former professional cricketer who played testes and One Day International matches for the Pakistan national team in ICC organized events. He has been dubbed as The Rawalpindi Express after the place where he was born and he is arguably the fastest bowler the world of cricket has ever seen, easily clocking 150 km/hour on many occasions. He became the first man to bowl a delivery over 100 miles/hour or 161.3 km/hour, which is the fastest delivery ever bowled in the history of cricket against England. Moreover, not only did he achieve a speed of 100 miles/hour on his delivery, he achieved it twice during one single match and that is something that makes him very unique in the world of fast bowlers. His prowess lay in being able to bowl fast and precise Yorkers as well as quick bouncers and these abilities made him one of the greatest as well as most feared bowlers of all time, the likes of which had not been seen in international cricket since the times of Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Jeff Thompson, Dennis Lillie, Malcolm Marshall and the likes – players who depended on raw pace to pick up wickets.

However, Shoaib Akhtar was also a very controversial figure and it followed him wherever he went. It has been said that he was very selfish and not a team man. The Pakistan team management once sent him home from Australia in the middle of a series because of an alleged poor behavior on his part. In 2006, he was perhaps involved in the biggest controversy when WADA found Shoaib Akhtar guilty of taking performance enhancing drugs and the ICC banned him from playing cricket. This ban was however lifted and he returned to the Pakistan national side the following year and almost immediately, got himself banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board or the PCB for fighting with team mate and fellow opening bowler Mohammad Asif during a training session.

He was selected to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders for the inaugural IPL but injuries blighted his season and he played only a handful of matches. Akhtar was so injury prone that he only managed to play a total of 46 tests and 163 One Day Internationals in his 12 year international career, taking a total of 425 wickets in all. Shoaib Akhtar, in spite of all his short comings, is truly a legend of the game and no matter what happens, cricket will always remember this flamboyant star.

Karachi :   Sindh High Court (SHC) on the Wednesday put on notice the Secretary Ministry of Interprovincial Coordination, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Director General PCB, Security Advisor PCB on petition filed by the former captain and player Rashid Latif seeking appointment of chairman and governing body of PCB as per directives of International Cricket Council (ICC).

Headed by Justice Maqbol Baqar, the division bench also issued notice to Attorney General to file comment in this regard.

The petitioner, Rashid Latif represented by Advocate Abdul Sattar Pirzada, cited Federation of Pakistan through secretary of Ministry Interprovincial Coordination, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Director General PCB, Security Advisor PCB as respondents.

The petitioner submitted that throughout his cricketing career he has struggled to ensure the transparency in all affairs concerning game particularly against match fixing or spot fixing which seeped through system due to insufficiencies prevalent in current constitution.

Petitioner stated that PCB as member of International Cricket Council (ICC) is bound to follow rules and regulations formed by ICC. One of requirement put forth by the ICC has been the appointment of the chairman and governing body of the PCB through electoral process which is direction not only limited to PCB but all members of ICC around world.

It was stated that President of Pakistan has been given unfettered powers to appoint chairman of PCB; whereas, the chairman ought to be appointed by way of election amongst representatives of cricket associations or members of region in order to ensure complete transparency.

Petitioner stated that Pakistan has failed to amend or pass new constitution as per directions of ICC.

He submitted PCB chairman in various press statements has expressed will of putting of whole structure of PCB in place according to requirement of ICC and 2013 deadline given by ICC is approaching nearer but no satisfactory measures have been taken in this regard.

He prayed to court to declare respondents no.1 in exercise of powers conferred upon it by section 3 and 4 o of the ordinance 1962 to create new board as well as constitution accordance with law and as per the directives of ICC.

He prayed to court declare and hold that appointments of respondents no.3 and 4 are unconstitutional.

He prayed to direct respondents no.3 and 4 to show cause as to under what authority law they claim to hold the offices of director general and security advisor of PCB.

Regarded by many to be the greatest left-handed fast bowler in the world, Wasim Akram is known for being the face of cricket and a pioneer in reverse swing bowling. Highly respected by his contemporaries for an impressive career, ornamented by an ICC Cricket Hall of Fame induction and with various records broken, Akram is not free from controversy. Accused of ball tampering and match fixing, the cricket champ has struggled to maintain his reputation.

Born in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan to a middle-class family, Akram attended Islamia College where he performed as an opening bowler and batsman. Displaying tremendous talent and flair in Test cricket, Akram attracted the attention of Pakistani All-rounder, Imran Kahn. Kahn would become Akram’s close friend and mentor at the World Championship of Cricket in Australia.

Throughout the 80’s Akram’s fame grew and the cricket world was forced to take note of the talent that Kahn observed in the young bowler. However, in 1988, Akram suffered a pulled groin, the first of many injuries that would slow his development as an athlete and hinder his career. However, in the early 90’s, Akram appeared on the scene recovered and with a faster, more deliberate bowling swing that made the world focus on him again. At the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Akram’s new style of swing proved deadly and the Pakistan National Team won the tournament. The success of the group and the leadership abilities of Akram garnered him the title of “captain,” a distinction he held until his retirement in 2003 after accusations of match fixing arose.

Following his retirement, Akram found himself as a sports commentator for ESPN and other networks, reporting on a number of sports, not just cricket. However, in 2010, Akram entered back into the world of cricket as bowling coach consultant for the Kolkata Knight Riders and as a couch for a number of training camps. The former cricket champ also found great support and gratification in his work as diabetes advocate and spokesperson for Accu Chek. Akram, who was diagnosed with type I diabetes in 1997, speaks openly about his illness and is determined to use his fame to promote awareness and break the stereotype that diabetes can’t be controlled. Akram, in an interview with Complete Wellbeing, stated,” I wanted to help people become aware of the disease and what is available to deal with it. I took 250 wickets after I was diagnosed with diabetes. I monitor my sugar levels every second day before breakfast and after lunch. If I am stressed about something I check my sugar to see how it is affected by stress. As I am in the know about what affects my sugar levels, I am more able to control it.”
